Healthy Supports

Having healthy social supports in life can be the difference between success and failure. Yes, it is possible to be needy and overly independent in relationships. Some may find themselves being needy from unresolved traumas and the unrealistic unmet expectations of those around them. Many refuse to allows themselves to be vulnerable “ever again” and begin to overly protect self. In doing so healthy supports can be alienated. Balance in life is crucial and finding the balance in relationships can be a challenge. The five languages teaches us that we all have specific ways of giving and receiving love. Being held accountable is a critical part of our healthy supports. Having a discussion with them about helpful and harmful support may be necessary. Working with a health coach is a great way to map out difficult relational conversations as well as addressing healthy boundaries.
